Amalfi, Italy

Amalfi Coast literally has to be one of my favorite places in the world. To me, its the epitome of a vacation. I’m a water baby, so get me on a beach with a glass of ROSÉ, and I will not move.

After Naples, we wanted to head towards the Amalfi Coast. Because we didn’t book our accommodations until about 2-3 weeks before our trip, we decided on the spots to visit by what accomodations we could find. We got really lucky when we found the Airbnb for Amalfi.

We decided to stay in a town a little bit above the center of Amalfi called Scala. It was so quiet and picturesque. And it was a 30-minute walk (aka hike) from our hotel to the beach. Which may not be of interest to some of you, but I love getting some cardio in on vacation. It’s easier to justify the carbs.

Palazzo San Giovanni was on Airbnb and it was probably one of the best places we stayed in Italy. Because we had a car, we didn’t need to travel by public transport to get to the hotel. The host was so kind and offered us a free parking spot as part of our stay.

To get into the town of Amalfi, there is a clear path that takes you straight down. Our first day we took the walk into town. Not gonna lie, it was kind of a hike, but I liked it. We stopped at Silver Moon for some lasagna, fish and a spritz. The service was great and our timing was perfect because it started pouring rain right when we arrived. We were able to hide on the patio until the storm passed.

We weren’t able to enjoy the beach that day because we had to hurry back to our hotel in case there was another storm. So, we took the hike back up, which was a lot harder than the way down, but I got a good little workout in!

For dinner, we walked a few steps from our room and enjoyed a lovely dinner at Ristorante Antico Borgo where we enjoyed some spaghetti & clams and a nice steak.

The Airbnb offered complimentary breakfast which was a lovely treat in the morning. After breakfast, we took another trip to town and enjoyed a little bit of time in the water. Then we headed off to beautiful Positano. Check out my next post for all the deets!
